Iraq discussion will examine impact on the media

Journalists are being invited to join a discussion on the impact the Iraq war is having on society and media.

The event, to be held later this month, is being organised by the Dart Centre for Journalism and Trauma, the International News Safety Institute and the Frontline Club Forum.

It will examine the psychological dimensions of the conflict and how it is affecting those fighting in it.

It will also look at the long-term psychological implications for the media, as well as the military, government and society as a whole.

Speakers will include Prof Gordon Turnbull from Ticehust Priory Hospital, Prof Simon Wessely of the Institute of Psychiatry and group analyst Gabrielle Rifkind.

The event will be held at The Frontline Club, 13 Norfolk Place, London, on June 29.

Anyone who would like to attend should contact Mark Brayne at mark.brayne@dartcentre.org.
