Star puts up £500 bounty to snare bird killer

The Evening Star in Ipswich is offering a £500 reward in a bid to find the killer of a snowy owl that had escaped from a local sanctuary.

The bird, which had evaded efforts to recapture it following its escape last month, is thought to have been killed with an air gun.

And in a bid to find the person who carried out the sickening attack, the Evening Star has put up a £500 reward for information leading to the arrest of the killer.

The snowy owl is a bird of prey and had been hand-reared and for the past five years. It was part of the flying demonstations at Suffolk Owl Sanctuary.

Anyone with information about the owl's death is being asked to contact Suffolk police or the Evening Star's newsdesk.
