Early indications show that the Scotsman's new compact Saturday look has been well-received.
The newspaper has reported that readers have welcomed the change, and has not ruled out a move away from its traditional format on Monday to Friday too.
The new look Saturday Scotsman was unveiled last week, in a move which editor Iain Martin said was a response to market trends.
He said: "You cannot ignore what is going on in the market and it is no secret that we are in a tough marketplace.
"It is my belief that if we want a strong indigenous newspaper industry it is important that we innovate."
He added that ongoing research showed many readers, particularly women, would prefer a different format and "readers and advertisers would decide" if a six-day compact paper was introduced.
