Editor's job will go to highest bidder

The Daily Echo in Bournemouth is set to get a new editor - but only for a day!

The top job will be up for grabs at a charity auction next month, and editor Neal Butterworth is preparing to step aside for the highest bidder.

The winner will get the chance spend the day at the Echo's Richmond Hill headquarters and help dictate what stories make that day's issue.

Neal said: "As well as spending the day with us and being part of all the key decisions during a busy shift, we will host the lucky person for lunch and present him or her with their own unique front page at the end of the visit."

The prize will be auctioned at the Mayor of Poole's Charity Ball on Friday, April 2.

The ball will raise money for six charities: cancer treatment at Poole Hospital, About Face, Forest Holme Hospice, Alderney Hospital, Womens Refuge Action Group and Dorset Youth Orchestra.
