Move to bring publishing departments closer together

Editor Nigel Pickover has taken charge of two new projects to bring newspaper departments closer together.

He will look at how best to retain and boost the circulation of Archant's newspapers - particularly its four dailies - the Evening Star, Eastern Daily Press, East Anglian Daily Times and Evening News in Norwich.

His team will also look at how the efficiency of the newspaper division as a whole can be increased.

Nigel will continue to edit the Ipswich-based Evening Star while co-ordinating both of the new projects.

He said: "It's great to be involved in this work at such an important time for Archant. I am keen to succeed in this challenge and see real opportunities and benefits for our titles in the weeks ahead.

"We have a huge amount of talent at our disposal, sometimes that expertise remains at divisional level. Much of the work will bring together a lot of our key players for the good of the group as a whole."
