Trinity Mirror Regional Newspaper Division is buying in Tera UK's editorial page make-up system.
The new system will be installed at Trinity Mirror North Wales and will support several titles, including the flagship Weekly News and the Caernarfon Herald.
It will be operated from the main North Wales office at Llandudno Junction, but will be installed at the offices of Trinity Mirror Cheshire, which recently installed its own editorial system.
All editorial staff, including designers, will use Citrix technology to access the GN3 and OPI databases in Chester, with completed pages output to press sites at Chester and Liverpool.
In addition, all archived material currently on the Tera database in Chester will be accessible by North Wales staff and all published material from the North Wales titles will be fed into the same archive to help build an electronic library in the north-west region.
The installation will be managed by Trinity Mirror's own in-house project team in co-operation with the local project team and should be complete by May.
