A plea has gone out for an experienced regional press journalist to speak at a charities' public relations forum later this year.
The event is being run by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations, and is aimed at PR professionals who work in the voluntary and charitable sector.
The organisers need someone to give an insight into:
how regional newspapers operate and how effective they are;how effective they are at supporting charitable/voluntary sector issues;how best to communicate with regional newspapers to try to ensure better coverage;how best to cultivate good relationships with regional journalists. If you could answer those questions and would be available to host a 25 minute presentation as part of a wider event for 10-25 members, and then answer questions from the floor, the NCVO would like to hear from you.
The forum is being planned for a London venue in late February or early March and the NCVO would be able to meet travel expenses.
Organiser Marcia Springer said: "Many of the PR Forum members belong to organisations that deal with health, education and environmental issues and are always looking for new and effective ways to inform the general public as well as encourage support."
The PR Forum meets three times a year at the NCVO’s London offices, where members attend presentations from leading individuals in the media, voluntary sector and public relations field.
Members represent large household name charities (some of which have regional offices) as well as smaller community-based organisations, with senior media officer, communications manager or press officer as their job title.
If you would like to take part, or need more information before making a decision, you can call Marcia direct on 020 7520 2469.
