The Hull Daily Mail is joining forces with Humberside Police and East Yorkshire Motor Services to crack down on anti-social behaviour on the road.

Their get tough campaign follows an instance where four boys, aged from 12 to 14, were handed anti-social behaviour orders after racially abusing a passenger on a Goole to Hull bus.

The bus firm EYMS is working with police to slam the brakes on bad behaviour - and the Mail is giving its full support.

Editor John Meehan said: "This is the big issue at the moment.

"The public and the authorities must do everything in their power to stop such behaviour getting out of control. We will back this campaign all the way."

The first step will be to send warning letters from EYMS and the police to known offenders.

Posters will then be put up on each of the 330 buses, stating that everybody has the right to travel without being intimidated.

These will also lay out the penalties for bad behaviour, such as contracts and behaviour orders.
