Tickets given away in the Bristol Evening Post for Concorde's homecoming were changing hands for more than £500 hours before it took off.
Three thousand tickets to see Concorde 216 touch down at Filton for the last time were given away free to readers who wrote into the newspaper, and more than 11,000 applied.
With demand for them so high, some winners decided to try and cash in themselves and auction their tickets on the Internet - with one winner offering two tickets on eBay for £550.
Evening Post managing editor Rob Stokes condemned the move, but said that nothing could be done to stop those who wanted to sell them from doing so.
He said: "It's very sad that anybody would want to make a profit by selling these tickets.
"They were available for everyone to apply for and were distributed fairly, but we can't legislate for human nature."
