High-flyer Suzanne tests extreme Experience

Basingstoke Gazette reporter Suzanne Rutter is proving to be a real high flier.

Suzanne, who joined the paper as a trainee in August, joined former Red Arrows pilots for a stunt-laden flight over Hampshire.

Along with trainee photographer Tom Bell-Chambers, she took to the skies as part of a feature on The Arrows Aerobatics Experience, which is based at Thruxton Racecourse.

The half-hour flight, with ex-Arrows pilots, followed an intensive briefing where formations were explained, along with aircraft procedures, how to use the communication equipment and what to do in an emergency.

Then it was time to don the famous red jump suit, strap in to the Pitts S2A aircraft and enjoy the experience as the pilots took the planes through a series of stunts, including loop-the-loops and barrel rolls.

Suzanne said: "The whole experience was like an extreme roller-coaster."

And she must have enjoyed it... Suzanne is already planning to go back for a feature on motor racing.
