Murder trial copy will help family understand tragedy

Copies of the Plymouth Evening Herald's coverage of a murder trial are being taken abroad to the victim's family to help them cope with their loss.

Detectives who investigated the death of Costas Anastasiou want the family to know the full story of what happened.

The Herald covered the two-week trial with stories every day and a backgrounder at its conclusion.

Detective Constable Ian Greening, who supported relatives throughout the hearing, will travel to Cyprus to try to console other family members following a guilty to manslaughter verdict after returning a not guilty verdict to murder.

He said: "It has been difficult at times for Gina, his wife. Like most family members she is searching for answers.

"Giving her the Herald papers gives her the story and it will enable her to tell the children what happened."

The policeman will break into his holiday in Cyprus to visit the Anastasiou family home near Larnaca.
