Freelance journalists will have a chance to find out what commissioning editors really want, at a seminar taking place in London next month.
The event is being organised by the Chartered Institute of Journalists.
Editors from publishing and broadcasting will talk about the stories and subjects they want from journalists and photographers.
They will also give advice on presenting a pitch, and how they prefer words and photos sent to them.
More details can be obtained from organizer Vivienne DuBourdieu by e-mail at vidubo@onetel.net.uk or by calling 020 8994 6974.
It will be held at the New Cavendish Club, 44-48 Great Cumberland Place, London W1H 7BS (nearest tube and buses Marble Arch), on Monday November 17 at 2.30pm.
The cost will be £15 to CIoJ members and £25 to non-members, although anyone who becomes a member on the day will receive a £10 refund.
