A team of photographers from the armed forces swapped the battlefield for the newsroom when they joined the Shropshire Star on a three-day placement.
The snappers, from the Defence School of Photography at RAF Cosford, visited the paper's head office in Ketley to find out how the paper works and help out on various jobs as part of their advanced training.


PA Mediapoint, a website run by the Press Association for journalists, is undergoing a revamp.
The new site is due to go live tomorrow, when new additions will include a comprehensive search facility, e-mail content delivery of the PA news schedule.
It is also restricting access to allow only those working in the media to view the whole website, although breaking news packages of top stories will still be available to everyone on the front page of the site.


Former staff of the Wirral Globe gathered for a reunion to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the free newspaper.
The newspaper's founder, Aldie Robarts, was joined by more than 100 former staff keen to mark the important milestone.


Journalism students from Harlow College experienced local government at first hand when they attended a full meeting of Epping Forest Council.
Twenty-eight students sat in the public gallery to watch the meeting and take notes as councillors debated a range of issues.
Many students also tried out their interview skills with councillors and officers at the end of the meeting.


A collection of old editions of the Newcastle Evening Chronicle have been found after more than 150 years.
Discovered in an old suitcase, the collection includes three copies of the old Newcastle Daily Chronicle and one of the Newcastle Weekly Chronicle from 1869.
Priced at one penny each, their front pages had no pictures or illustrations, but instead contained adverts and announcements of various group meetings.
