PA appoints head of features

Former Daily Record journalist Mandy Appleyard is to join the Press Association as head of features.

In the newly-created role Mandy will be responsible for developing feature content across all the editorial marketsserved by PA, including national and regional newspapers, magazines, contract publishing, television and the Internet.

An experienced newspaper and magazine journalist, Mandy is a former features editor of the Daily Recordin Glasgow and has also held senior positions on several national magazines including Woman, Company and Closer.

She said: "The Press Association has great ambitions for developing its features business and I am pleased to be joining at this exciting time."

Mandy will join the national news agency on October 20, and will be based at its northern headquarters in Howden, Yorkshire.
