Sudden death of sub-editor

Journalists at the Telegraph & Argus in Bradford are mourning the loss of colleague Gary Cannadine, who has died aged 45.

The sub-editor collapsed on his way to work on Monday and despite efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead on arrival at Bradford Royal Infirmary.

It is thought that he had suffered a heart attack.

Gary had worked at the Telegraph & Argus for four years, having previously worked at Sheffield Newspapers.

He began his career at the Huddersfield Examiner in 1978, working as a reporter and later as a feature writer and columnist.

Telegraph & Argus editor Perry Austin-Clarke said: "Gary had worked for us for more than four years and was very well liked by, and popular with, his colleagues.

"Everyone here is very deeply saddened by his loss."
