The Press Complaints Commission has thrown out a complaint against the Sentinel and Sentinel Sunday by the PR manager for Caudwell Group chief executive John Caudwell. The newspapers reported how they were accused of a persecution campaign but the Commission found no breach of the Editors' Code of Practice.

Ken Symon has been appointed business editor of the Sunday Herald.
He was formerly at the Financial Times, covering Scotland for the publication. Before that he was business editor of The Scotsman and deputy editor of the Sunday Times' Scottish operation.

Entertainers Paul Daniels, Aled Jones and Buster Bloodvessel have all backed Archant Devon's Gift of Life campaign to encourage the take-up of donor cards.
