Business offering beefed up for midlands readers

The Leicester Mercury has relaunched its Tuesday business offering with an improved features-led full-colour supplement.

The new-look supplement, the Business, has more pages and more regular features and provides news and views from companies and organisations throughout Leicestershire and beyond.

Business editor Andy Gilgrist said: "Daily business pages are still an integral part of the Mercury but the Business is designed to be read all week.

"As a fully fledged supplement, the front cover of the Business is now a bold statement in design terms and also gives us immediate visual impact. It's a very attractive pullout and keep."

Regular items will include:

  • Red Tape - a weekly look at new regulation, with pros and cons;
  • Farming - news and opinions for the agricultural community;
  • Business Property - trends and opportunities;
  • Company Car Man - the voice of the professional working person.

    With The Mercury's 100,000-plus circulation and readership of more than 220,000, the Business has already attracted a diverse range of advertisers from hotels, surveyors, solicitors, accountants, Business Link, Learning & Skills Council - right through to companies selling vans and children's nursery services.
