Sailors are famed for having a woman in every port - but North Yorkshire merchant seaman Dan Woodhouse has an Evening Press wherever he goes.
The 21-year-old navigation officer, who works on a BP Shipping oil tanker for months at a time, arranges for copies of the York paper to be sent to ports in countries across the globe, including Ecuador, Japan and New Zealand.
He said: "I get really homesick so this is a great way of keeping in touch with what's happening at home.
"I'm a massive York City fan so it's great to read about what's happening to the team and how they played."
Dan gets his dad to send the Evening Press to BP Shipping's headquarters and they are then flown out to his next docking point.
"I really look forward to getting ashore so I can get the copies I've missed," he added.
"Everyone reads it on board.
"It's quite strange when I look out of my cabin window and arrive at an exotic location in the Caribbean or somewhere and then pick up my Press to read about what's happening in Acomb or Coppergate.
"There's only so much people can tell you in an e-mail."
