Border paper celebrates Union

Tweeddale Press is making the most of its unique cross-border position to help celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Union of the Crowns of England and Scotland.

A host of events is taking place in Berwick-upon-Tweed.

The last significant chapter in Berwick's unique story was opened in April 1603 when James VI/I stopped off at Berwick on his journey from Edinburgh to London to become the first King of both countries.

A series of special features in the Berwick Advertiser and its sister papers is running throughout the year to help promote the major year-long celebrations in and around Berwick.

Tweeddale Press staff are assisting with the promotion of the celebrations, and many are helping directly with organising the events.
