Mellow yellow bids good day sunshine!

A sunshine edition of the Grimsby Telegraph hit the streets this week when the decision was made to publish in bright yellow!

The paper joined in summer fun with a front page to reflect the heatwave sweeping the nearby resort of Cleethorpes.

Readers seemed to like the yellow and orange glow - but some are said to have needed sunglasses to look at it.

Editor Michelle Lalor said: "It seemed to go down really well here, with the younger members of the staff really liking it.

"People generally saw it for what it was - a bit of fun during a really hot spell.

"I went for it because I was keen to just do something different to set this year's heatwave story apart from the ones we have run annually.

"It certainly provoked a lot of comment, which is what we wanted."

And what about that banana banner advert… in the right place at the right time!
