Newspaper staff go back to school to raise £600

Evening Advertiser staff in Swindon went back to school for a day in aid of Swindon Cares week.

Everybody from their Victoria Road HQ took part in a range of activities including fancy dress, raffles, lucky dip, an e-bingo contest, an anagram competition and a sweepstake to guess how many runs the Advertiser team would make in a cricket match.

The Advertiser has raised more than £800.

Staff said that when they heard about the Cares week they simply thought of a fun way of raising money.

The aim of the week was to raise £10,000 for various local charities including the NSPCC.

Other organisations supporting it include BBC radio Swindon, Zurich, Nationwide, Swindon Council, the Rotary Club Swindon and the Swindon Chamber of Commerce.
