The Colchester Evening Gazette has launched a poster campaign in a bid to catch the killer of a local pensioner.
Thelma Avis, (90), died on Friday, July 4, of suspected shock, four hours after a con man posing as a gas company worker talked his way into her home and stole around £1,000.
The pensioner felt she was a "fool" for letting the man into her Barn Hall Avenue home and was very embarrassed that she let herself be deceived by him.

Evening Gazette chief reporter Laurence Cawley, said: "We have put the posters on buses in Colchester, in all our offices and in local police stations.
"It has also been printed as a full page in the paper so all our readers have been forced to see it.
"The police have received a large number of calls but have not yet charged anyone."
This latest poster campaign is in addition to the Evening Gazette's two-year-long anti-bogus callers campaign.
Laurence said: "We have printed lots of Evening Gazette anti-bogus caller stickers for the campaign. We try to link up with the police whenever appropriate in cases like this as part of our community role."
