An Aberdeen man has reunited a 60s pop group after reading an appeal on the Press and Journal website while working in Angola.
The Invaders - who used to perform alongside groups including the Fortunes - were led by Mu Lyon when they played gigs in Cambridgeshire and Leicestershire.
Known at the time by her maiden name of Duncan, she had not seen the rest of the band since 1966 and was the last member to be traced for a forthcoming reunion.
She was found after her husband phoned to tell her that her fellow band members were trying to contact her.
The band's former manager John Wright, and his wife Jilly, had organised the reunion at their Leicestershire home.
They managed to track down five members of the band but were having difficulty getting hold of Mu, who lost contact after marrying and moving to Aberdeen with her husband.
But she was traced after an appeal in the P&J, which her husband spotted from Angola - and then contacted his wife in Aberdeen.
Mu said: "The last time I saw them was when we last played together 37 years ago. We were only semi-professionals. We all had jobs and would travel to the clubs and pubs in the evenings. We'd play stuff by groups like the Hollies and the Fortunes - Brenda Lee was my favourite."
Although Mu does not sing any more, many of the band members are still involved in the music industry, with guitarist Kip Trevor having toured with Robbie Williams in Germany as a guitar technician.
Sadly, the band won't be performing at the reunion in Uppingham on August 24 - but the group will at last be properly reunited.
