A former regional newspaper reporter has taken up a new role as senior press officer for Manchester Airport.

Chris Shaw, (37), has spent the past three years as a press officer for the Lawn Tennis Association and prepared for his career studying newspaper journalism at Lancashire Polytechnic.

He used to work for the Chorley Guardian before moving on to the Lancashire Evening Post.

He will now manage an eight-strong team in his new role at the airport, where the team face questions about everything from aviation policy to day-to-day airport business.
