Newspaper team shows it's in peak condition

Staff at Newsquest Oxfordshire have raised more than £2,000 for charity after completing the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge.

A 10-strong team from the company, which publishes the Oxford Mail and The Oxford Times, took up the challenge to climb Britain's three highest mountains - all within 24 hours.

Their adventure began at the foot of Ben Nevis (4,406ft), and also included Scafell Pike (3,206ft), before coming to an end at the bottom of Snowdon (3,560ft).

The team was made up of staff from across Newsquest Oxfordshire, including advertising, IT and production.

Derek Holmes, editor of The Oxford Times, said the group were pleased with their performance.

He said: "We were very pleased with how it went, in particular how a group of people from different departments worked so well together as a team.

"It was thoroughly exhausting but a brilliant experience and we expect to have raised in excess of £2,000 for Oxford Children's Hospital."
