Reporter 'shocked' after racist attack

A reporter at The Sentinel in Stoke-on-Trent has spoken of his shock at becoming the victim of a racist attack.

Seb Short, (22), had been on a night out with colleagues in Newcastle-Under-Lyme when the incident occurred.

Seb, who is half Iranian, and has lived in England all of his life, said: "This guy called me a Paki and then hit me. I just couldn't believe it had happened.

"What was worse was that when I went to phone the police at the taxi office a woman waiting there said 'They won't do anything, it happens all the time'.

"I'm still shocked and I won't be going out in Newcastle again."
