Messenger in a league of its own

The Medway Messenger has renewed its sponsorship of the Medway Sunday Football League - signing a second three-year deal.

The new agreement was signed at a reception at Gillingham's Sturdee Club.

Editor Bob Dimond said: "We are delighted to renew our partnership with the Medway Sunday Football League.

"Over the past three years we've forged a strong relationship with the league which I'm sure will continue to prosper in the next three years."

Alan Barty, chairman of the league, said: "We are indebted to the Medway Messenger, not only for their continued sponsorship, but for their acceptance of our patronage because we have not had a patron for six years.

"Their financial support has enabled our clubs to benefit from first aid courses in addition to providing every one with essential first aid kits."
