Journalism duo join police press team

Avon and Somerset Police has appointed two media relations staff for its North Bristol and Somerset East districts.

Ceri Doyle, (26), is responsible for Somerset East, and has a background in regional journalism.

She has worked for the Weston and Somerset Mercury, the Bristol Evening Post and also as a crime reporter for the South Wales Argus.

Liz Kirkham, (23), is responsible for North Bristol district. She comes from a background in public relations, and has a degree in journalism from Cardiff University.

Liz has managed the press office for the Greene King pub company's 600 pubs, and worked for a PR consultancy - dealing with consumer and business to business clients.

The Corporate and Communications Unit, a 12-strong team, is lead by Joanne Brandon, head of corporate communications, and managed by media relations manager Will Marsh.
