Facelift for journalist banishes the wrinkles

North West Evening Mail journalist Helen Wall is looking and feeling younger after undergoing a non-surgical facelift.

The assistant features editor had been worrying that some of her skin had been beginning to sag, but she didn't fancy the idea of going under the surgeon's knife or having Botox treatments.

So she decided to try a less drastic option, with the Body Ultimate Facial Toning System, which works by electronically stimulating the muscles.

To have an effective "facelift", 10 treatments are needed within one month and then further treatments should be given every four to six weeks, but Helen opted for a one-off treatment which gives results that last a couple of days.

Before the treatment, beautician Lorraine Buzzard asked Helen which areas of her face she was particularly concerned about and then got to work, preparing the skin with collagen therapy gel with glycolic acid.

Lorraine then started on Helen's forehead, eyes and cheekbones with her magic 'wand' - all without Helen feeling a thing.

Lorraine then moved to her top lip and jawline, which Helen did find more uncomfortable - but after looking in the mirror, she was pleasantly surprised.

Helen said: "There was a definite improvement round the eyes, the crepey skin had gone, there was a real lift under the brow and the crow's feet were diminished.

"Better still, my jawbone was starting to re-emerge from sagging flesh.

"A provincial journalist's salary doesn't really support a high maintenance lifestyle, but I am definitely considering saving up."
