Why Sarah doesn't mind looking like the back of a bus

Bristol Evening Post journalist Sarah Pritchard-Williams is having to get used to being told she looks like the back of a bus - after becoming the star of the paper's latest advertising campaign.

The features sub-editor can currently be seen around the city on giant billboards, and on the back of buses, together with colleague Bryony New, who works in the paper's classified advertising department.

The pair are pictured at a bus stop and on a train station platform, absorbed in reading the newspaper with the slogan: "Did you miss something?"

Sarah (27), who has worked at the paper for the past two years, was asked to pose at Bristol Temple Meads and admits that it is strange to see her face emblazoned across the city.

She said: "The first shoot was the day after our Christmas party so I didn't feel too great.

"But we did it again in January. I was asked to wear the same hairstyle, and take up the same pose.

"It makes me a bit self-conscious - most of all when people come up to me and ask if it's me they have seen on the bus. So I tell them that yes, I look like the back of a bus."

  • It is not the first time Sarah and Bryony have been used to promote the paper. Sarah regularly features on a banner advertising the paper's Wednesday job section, while Bryony has been the face of many of the paper's competitions.
