Editors gather to say farewell to Evening Post's Rose

Four Bristol Evening Post editors gathered to say farewell to Rose Blackmore who has retired after 28 years at the paper.

The editor's secretary has worked for five different editors during that time.

Her first editor was Gordon Farnsworth and since then she has worked with Eric Price, Brian Jones, Adrian Faber - now at the Wolverhampton Express & Star - and current editor, Mike Lowe.

At a party to celebrate her retirement, all the surviving editors (Mr Price, Mr Jones, Mr Faber and Mr Lowe) gathered to wish her well.

Rose, (58), said: "I have loved every minute of my time here.

"I've always been an Evening Post reader so working here was ideal. It has been great being part of the newspaper and I have met so many wonderful people.

"I will miss the paper and the staff but I plan to devote more time to watching the cricket and being in the garden."
