The Norwich Evening News has launched a new entertainment supplement to help boost Friday sales.
The new 52-page glossy 100 Magazine is packed with listings and reviews of pubs, clubs, restaurants, theatre, cinema, shopping, music, books, games, videos and DVDs, and given away free with Friday's paper.
Editor David Bourn said: "The idea is simple. The magazine is a weekly selection of 100 reviews of different things to do over the week, coupled with a full listings service.
"The design is straightforward and strong, and we believe we have cracked the issue of giving readers and advertisers a product with a shelf-life.
"Our aim is to grow sales of the Evening News by at least 1,000 copies every Friday."
And the magazine, which so far has included interviews with Hollywood star Colin Farrell and pop star Daniel Bedingfield, appears to be impressing readers, with edition one adding 2,251 copies to the Evening News sales figures - a year-on-year increase of 7.7 per cent.
A giant centipede called Cecil helped launch the new magazine, with 14 members of the paper's staff donning a gigantic insect costume to give out free samples in Norwich city centre. Do you have a story about the regional press? Ring 0116 227 3122/3121, or
