Press agency changes hands in management buyout

Derby-based Raymonds Press Agency, one of the oldest in Britain, has been acquired in a management buyout for an undisclosed sum.

Nigel Lucas, general manager of the company for the last three years, has become the managing director of the organisation which dates back to before the Second World War.

It has been bought from media entrepreneur and Derby County FC chairman Lionel Pickering, who owned it for more than a decade.

The agency, based in Gower Street and with offices in Nottingham, Leicester and Lincoln, employs 21 people.

Nigel, from Tamworth, is a journalist and public relations specialist.
