Valentine's Day saw Cupid work his magic for one Bristol couple with a little help from the Evening Post.
Ewa Goodman sprung a surprise marriage proposal on her boyfriend with a giant banner on the newspaper's Temple Way headquarters - and he said "yes".
Louis Sherman thought he was on his way to a romantic lunch with his girlfriend when he went past the Evening Post building - and got the shock of his life.
The unusual proposal was part of a prize on offer by the Bristol-based newspaper, which launched a search for its most romantic reader who wanted to make banner headline news on the most romantic day of the year.
Thirty-five-year-old Ewa, who has two children from a previous marriage, fitted the bill by writing a moving letter explaining how the past 18 months with Louis had been the happiest of her life.
She said: "We've been together for more than 20 months and all the time it feels like we're falling more and more deeply in love.
"He is hardworking, caring, interesting, funny and absolutely devoted to the family."
And after accepting Ewa's proposal, Louis told the Evening Post: "When I saw the banner I just froze. At first I thought it must be for someone else. Then I realised it was for me, and I was really shocked.
"My answer was definitely yes, there was no flicker of a 'no' in my mind.
"She's my soul mate and I love her."
The couple were also treated to a free dinner, a bottle of wine, and a stay at a luxurious four star hotel.
