The Prince of Wales has commended The Blackpool Gazette for helping raise funds for the new £2.5m cancer unit at Blackpool's Victoria Hospital.

The Argus Appeal has raised a record-breaking £125,000 to pay for a variety of projects that help deserving people across Sussex.
The Appeal's major backer was Legal and General, which donated more than £40,000 through sponsoring events and the Christmas Grotto. The newspaper smashed last year's total of £85,000, the proceeds went to help a number of charitable organisations and individuals.
