The former transport manager of the Gloucester Citizen has died at the age of 74 following a long illness.
Herbert Haines, known to his friends as Bert, joined the Citizen as a driver before being promoted to transport manager, a position he held for more than 10 years until his retirement nine years ago.


Historian and photographer Doug Noyes, who contributed pictures of old Reading to the Midweek Chronicle in Berkshire, had died at the age of 80.
Mr Noyes amassed a remarkable collection of transparencies depicting the old town and his wife has asked the Midweek to continue to print items already provided by her husband.
