Classic tale serialisation will "get people reading"

The Bristol Evening Post is serialising Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel Treasure Island in a bid to get more people reading.

As part of The Great Reading Adventure the Evening Post will serialise the entire book in the paper over more than nine weeks from World Book Day on March 6.

Penguin Books is supporting the initiative through the donation of copies of the book, as well as the city council, Bristol Chamber of Commerce and Initiative, Southwest Arts, Art and Business and Aardman.

Evening Post Deputy Editor Stan Szecowka said "We are delighted to be involved in such a pioneering project and one which could be vitally important to the success of Bristol in bidding to become European Capital of Culture."
