Cash incentive to find answers

Two regional newspapers are backing their local police by offering rewards to the public to help solve crime.

The Liverpool Echo is offering a reward of £5,000 to catch the killers of a city woman.

She died from injuries she suffered during a robbery yards from her home.

Brenda Wynne, (63), suffered a knee injury when she was wrestled to the ground for the £13 she had on her but died in hospital from complications.

The £5,000 reward will be handed over to anyone who gives information that leads to the arrest and conviction of two men who attacked her and then tried to use her cash card at a bank three miles away half an hour later.

The Evening Star in Ipswich is also hoping to track down some suspects - and is offering £1,000 for information leading to the conviction of robbers labelled The Suffolk Three.

Six raids on shops are under investigation by the police, who want to establish if they were all committed by the same gang.
