Not quite a millionaire...

Journalist Andrew Kempley-Smith scooped £16,000 on TV's Who Wants to be a Millionaire after correctly answering nine questions posed by host Chris Tarrant.

Andrew, night news editor at the Western Daily Press, used his wide general knowledge to get far enough to take a shot at the £32,000 question.

The wordsmith, pictured with quizmaster Chris, got his chance in television's most sought-after hotseat by being the fastest to put four Shakespeare plays in alphabetical order.

Things were going well for the first six questions but then he used his lifelines at the £4,000, £8,000 and £16,000 stage, so bowed out with a healthy £16,000.

Then the 40-year-old decided to cut his losses after realising he did not know for sure that songwriter Cole Porter was the subject of the 1946 film Night And Day.
