Newsman Dando ready for radio hotseat

Former Bristol Evening Post chief reporter Nigel Dando will soon be taking over one of the most fought over slots in local radio.

The BBC Radio Bristol presenter has been promoted to the breakfast show after the retirement of Roger Bennett.

Roger was also a reporter for the Post before joining the BBC, and has presented the breakfast show for the past 28 years.

Nigel, the brother of the late TV presenter Jill Dando, will be co-presenting the show with Rachel Burden.

Station manager Jenny Lacey is confident Nigel will do well.

She said: "Nigel is already a favourite with our listeners. He's been doing the programme a few days each week for a while."
