The Skegness Standard has marked its 80th anniversary by adopting a local charity which supports disadvantaged young women.
The Girls' Friendly Society's Platform project aims to raise £30,000 for maintenance and other work at its centre at Townsend House in Skegness.
Money will be spent tackling damp, rotting windows and woodworm, and on floor and roof repairs.


Three new sponsors have joined the Cambridge Evening News Putting Schools First scheme, which turns newspapers into teaching aids.
Barclays Corporate Banking, Cambridge University Press and Slough Estates have all pledged their help for the initiative, designed to provide free copies of the newspaper to schools all over Mid-Anglia.
Teachers use the newspapers to highlight curriculum subjects like reading, writing, maths and history.


Readers of the Hull Daily Mail have raised £50,000 for the paper's charity of the year - KIDS - which provides services for children with special needs across East Yorkshire.
The appeal, launched in May, aims to raise £100,000, which will be used to develop the charity's services.
