Tributes have been paid to Keighley News sub-editor Clive Pratt who died on Saturday.

He had suffered a brain haemorrhage while celebrating his 49th birthday on Thursday and died in hospital.

Clive had worked at the weekly Keighley News since January.

Editor Malcolm Hoddy said: "He was a great team player. For example, one member of staff said that Clive was one of the nicest men they had met and nothing was too much for him. I would fully endorse that comment."

Before joining the Keighley News Clive worked at the Telegraph and Argus in Bradford. He joined the paper in 1984 and rose to the position of deputy sports editor.

Editor Perry Austin-Clarke said: "We are all deeply shocked by Clive's death. He was regarded by everyone who knew him as a hard-working, skilled and professional journalist.

"He was a loyal and committed servant of the T&A for many years and he had a great many friends here. He will be sadly missed."

Clive trained as a journalist at Highbury College, Portsmouth, and was a keen sportsman, having run in the London, New York and Melbourne marathons.
