Guardian masthead reflects "everything Cornish"

The Cornish Guardian has been asked to provide copies of its newspaper to add realism to a new drama from the BBC.

It will be used on the London set of filming for the Inspector Lynley Mysteries.

More than 7.5m people watched the last series of the flagship BBC drama, and the Cornish Guardian will be used to help create the feel of Cornish life, according to BBC art designer Kate Wellings.

She said: "The distinctive lettering and image of the paper appealed to me and associated itself with everything Cornish."

The episode, which includes location filming in Cornwall, features a Cornish police inspector who stumbles on a murder while visiting his parents.
