Reporter recovering after car crash

A North West Evening Mail reporter is recovering in hospital after she was involved in a serious car crash.

Sian Ellidge, (25), had been travelling from Hexham to Barrow when there was a collision with a car travelling in the opposite direction on the A69 at Greenhead, near the junction with the B630 in Northumbria, on Monday.

She suffered multiple injuries in the crash, including two broken arms, two broken legs, a broken pelvis and a punctured lung.

She was taken to the intensive care unit at Newcastle General Hospital and has since been moved to the orthopaedic unit.

Sian joined the Evening Mail in July last year.
