The Essex Courier Series has launched a new weekly publication aimed at train travellers across Essex and Central London.
The free magazine, called The Commuter, covers all aspects of entertainment including listings for gigs, cinemas and theatres; film reviews and music releases; columnists and a seven-day TV guide.
The 32-page magazine is written by the Essex Courier's team of eight full-time journalists, and will also include restaurant reviews, fashion, travel and a recruitment section.
Courier editor Carol Driver said the magazine had been very well received so far.
She said: "We saw an opportunity to fill a space in the market. There are a lot of people in Essex who commute to London every day and although there is the Metro, not everyone wants to read news.
"People can read our entertainment magazine and plan their week ahead.
"The magazine goes out on a Thursday and by the weekend all the copies have gone. We feel it's what people want."
