Editorship for Peter

Former regional newspaper reporter Peter Roberts has been appointed editor of the Farmers' Union of Wales's monthly newspaper Welsh Farmer.

Peter, (53), who is the union's press officer, will now also edit the paper, which was relaunched in a new format at the Royal Welsh Show.

He takes over from Gwilym Thomas who has retired after more than 30 years of service.

Peter began his journalism career as a reporter on the Carmarthen Journal.

He then became a district reporter for the South Wales Evening Post before spending 15 years working on the Western Mail.
