Getting to the heart of its readership

The Press and Journal in Aberdeen is aiming to get to the heart of the community by holding a series of special surgeries.

A group of reporters from the paper will be heading out to towns and villages around Aberdeenshire to meet readers and hear their thoughts and opinions on the newspaper and the area they live in.

Reporters Neil Moir, Simone Sinclair, Gillian Bearcroft, Alan Gorham and Gordon Lyon will hold two-hour surgeries at several local libraries, visiting each community on a fortnightly basis.

Each session will give readers the opportunity to discuss the issues they think the paper should be covering, or if they prefer, they can pick up a form and put their views in writing.

And it is also hoped that this will provide readers with the opportunity to come forward with their own news stories and photo opportunities.
