Dance floor snaps taken by an Evening Star reader resulted in the conviction of two brutal attackers.
The paper put up a £500 reward after a man suffered a broken jaw in an Ipswich night club.
Solvejc Warwick had taken some photos of revellers and unwittingly took some of one of the men who carried out the attack after the club had shut.
She said: "One of my friends was chatted up by one of the attackers and had given her his number.
"So when police told us who they were after we could even give them his mobile number.
"When I read about the appeal in the Star, I thought if I had some information that could help I ought to come forward."
The police investigation had been faltering because of a lack of closed circuit TV coverage and unreliable witnesses - until Solvejc picked up the phone after seeing the paper's appeal.
The man responsible for the broken jaw pleaded guilty in court to causing grievous bodily harm and was sentenced to two years probation with 100 hours of community service. He was ordered to pay £4,000 compensation to his victim and was also electronically tagged for six months.
His accomplice admitted causing actual bodily harm and was also sentenced to 100 hours of community service. The court ordered he pay £250 compensation.
