T&A names new MD

The company that publishes the Bradford Telegraph & Argus has a new boss, with the appointment of David Coates (pictured below) as managing director.

David, (34), began his newspaper career in 1990 as a part-time sales canvasser and has also been commercial controller at Newsquest York, newspaper sales manager at Newsquest Kendal and then newspaper sales manager, marketing manager and publisher at Newsquest Bradford.

Apart from publishing the T&A, his company is also responsible for four weekly titles with a combined audited circulation of 46,840 copies and the Target Series of free newspapers with a weekly VFD of 120,000 copies.

He said: "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to take charge of one of Newsquest's most successful companies. I look forward to working with a great management team."

Regional managing director Tim Blott said: "I am delighted for David. I know he will work hard for the company and for the communities our titles serve."
