Newsquest motoring expert Alyson Marlow is back in the rallying hot seat asthe Hampshire-based rally co-driver heads to Dumfries for the Scottish roundof the Peugeot 206 Super Cup.
She has teamed up with top Canadian rally driver Pat Richard for an assaulton the tough rally series this season and is looking forward to a toughevent north of the border.
"Pat has spent the last month contesting events back in Canada so it's been abit of rush to get everything ready for Scotland but he's back in thiscountry and we are raring to go," said Alyson who has been rallying fornine years.
She said that 28-year-old Pat is this year splitting his time betweencontesting the Canadian Championship in a works supported Subaru andlearning the art of pacenotes in the UK.
"Pat is keen to gain more rallying experience and the UK is renowned forbeing one of the best places in the world to learn," said Alyson who worksfor the Daily Echo in Southampton.
"He has a steep learning curve as Pat is used to more powerful four wheeldrive cars and he’s also getting used to driving a right hand drive car.
"I have competed in Scotland before but it's a first for Pat and we justwant to get the car back in one piece and give Pat more experience usingpacenotes."
